Margaret Jeanne Becker, 93, of Tiffin, passed away at 7:23AM on July 30, 2024 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. Born November 2nd 1930 to John Paul and Lucille (Philbrick) Zartman, Jeanne spent her youngest years assisting her magician father on stage and danced en pointe between magical acts to her mother playing the piano. Jeanne went on to graduate from Columbian High Class of 1948 and Riverside Hospital School of nursing class- Toledo, 1951. She remained an active Registered Nurse for 40 years in addition to her work as Director of Nursing for Seneca County General Health District.
She was a proud member of many associations through her life. As a lifetime member of Trinity United Church of Christ, she spent time as a deacon and office volunteer as well as a member of Mother’s Circle, Trinity Twosomes, and Keenager. Her participation in The Professional Nurses Club, Columbian High School Alumni, Riverside Hospital School of Nursing Alumni, Auxillary Tiffin AmVets, Allen Eiry, PERI, and Ohio Public Health Association kept her connected to the community she loved so dearly.
She spent 32 years with the love of her life, Bob Becker. Their many adventures saw RV winters at Park Place Resort in Harlingen, Texas and most of the United States as well as local camping often joined by their many grandchildren. They shared a deep common interest in birds, golfing, bowling, a passion for The Ohio State University, many close friends who became more like family, and time amongst the many branches of their family tree. After the loss of Bob she was finally able to adopt a kitty, Goldie, who also precedes her in death. Felines were in fact, not a shared interest.
Surviving family members include daughters Leslie Walter, Julie (David) Bruner, Lara Becker, sons Ronald (Jennifer) Green, Craig (Tina) Becker, and Warren (Molly) Becker; and daughter-in-Law Mary Stucky, of Tiffin. She also leaves behind 23 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great- Great Grandchild, all of whom were the light of her later years in life.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Becker, son Randie Green, son in law Dennis Walter, brother Dave Zartman, nephew Kevin Zartman, sisters in law Virginia (Green) Hoover and Delores (Weber) Zartman, step father Paul Lantz, and many of her beloved friends.
Visitation will be held at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin, Ohio on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 3PM-7PM. Funeral services will take place at Trinity United Church of Christ in Tiffin on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 2PM. Burial will commence at Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following the services.
