Margaret “Meg” Smith, 60, of Tiffin, passed away on November 10, 2024 at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.
Meg was born May 21, 1964 in Steubenville, OH. She was the beloved daughter, of John T. Gilmore and Karen D. (Tosi) Dieguez, who preceded her in death. She married Kurt A. Smith at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin on August 4, 1990 and he survives in Tiffin.
Meg is also survived by her daughter, Krista Moreno of Tiffin, granddaughter, Addison Moreno of Tiffin, sisters Beth Gilmore of Florida and Amy (Greg) Martien of Longmont, CO, step-dad Louis Dieguez of Tiffin, some close nieces and nephews, as well as a host of loving friends and extended family who will deeply miss her.
Meg worked as a Certified Medical Coding Specialist for 25 years. She was a 1982 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and attended Toledo University and finished her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Tiffin University.
Meg was known for her warmth and love for all. She was a cherished member of the Amvets, Elks, Eagles and Knights of Columbus where she found true joy in the camaraderie and friendships that blossomed over the years. Her friends in these organizations will remember her fondly for how she relished in raising a glass and sharing laughter, kindness, and care for others. As an avid fan of karaoke, she was often the life of the party. She loved sharing good times, especially over a drink. Her spirit was one of generosity and cheer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, from 3-6 pm. at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will be held at a later date.
