Marjorie “Marge” W. Bethel, 92, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 at Spring Creek Nursing & Rehab in Green Springs with family by her side.
Marge was born on May 19, 1931 in Fostoria, to the late Harold J. and Inez W. (Raines) Mompher. She married Robert “Bob” Bethel on March 6, 1948 at Fostoria United Church of Christ and they enjoyed of 40 years together.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Phyllis) Bethel of Florida, two daughters, Linda (Larry) Manecke of Fort Seneca, Bobbie Parker of Florida, a brother, Don (Sue) Mompher of Findlay, grandchildren, Jenni Twaits of Tiffin, Beki (David) Covert of Delaware, Michelle Bethel of Alabama, Suzanne Bethel of Germany, Kelli Parker of Florida, and Heather (Jon) Clark of Texas, great-grandchildren, Nico Bethel, Jonathan Bethel, Brady and Carter Covert and Brandon Parker, a great-great-grandson, Liam Bethel, many nieces and nephews, and two specials friends, Charlene Raubeson and Tilly Wentz both of Tiffin.
Marge enjoyed a long full life. She graduated from Fostoria High School and was a former member of Fort Seneca United Church of Christ. Marge retired from the Seneca Opportunity Center and also worked at the Betty Jane Center. She had a love for reading, crocheting and sewing.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob Bethel, brothers, Jack, Vern, David, and Bill Mompher, a grandson, Douglas Bethel and a son-in-law, Bobby Parker.
Funeral services for Marge will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin with Pastor Carter Covert officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Thursday at Pleasant Union cemetery in Old Fort.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Nursing & Rehab or to Heartland Hospice.
