Marlena Jean Ash, 82, of Pemberville and formerly of Bettsville, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024 at Otterbein Nursing Home in Pemberville.
Marlena was born on November 23, 1941 in Fostoria, to the late Harold and Yvonne (Mansfield) Lanning. She married Gerald R. Ash in 1961.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Ash of Pemberville, a daughter, Julie (Joe) Hartsel of West Liberty, a son, Nathan (Beth) Ash of Bowling Green, son-in-law, Bill Lindenfeld of Brownsburg, IN, seven grandchildren, Hannah (Matt) Crissman, Addy Hartsel, Katie (Nic) Oehler, Mitchell and Jesse Lindenfeld and Macy and Cole Ash.
Marlena worked at the Door Mouse in Bettsville and was a former member of Salem United Methodist Church in Bettsville where she played the piano for over 30 years. She is a current member of Grace Point Church in Northwood and enjoyed gardening. She was in the first graduating class at Lakota High School in 1959.
Marlena was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Kimberlyn Lindenfeld and a sister, Penny Langevin.
Funeral services for Marlena will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Grace Community Church in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at church. There will be a private family burial held at Oakwood cemetery in Fremont. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Point Church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
