Martha Ann Palm Rochotte, age 76, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born August 1, 1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Norman Arnold and Anna Mae (Cole) Palm. On October 12, 2010, Marte married John C. Rochotte in Maui, Hawaii, barefoot on the beach. They had a very happy marriage and enjoyed traveling and staying at their cabin in northern Michigan.
Marte was a 1962 graduate of Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis. She worked for 31 years at National School Studios (which later became Life Touch), as the administrative assistant for 3 CEOs, and was in charge of all of the outside salesmen commissions.
As an only child, Marte’s five cousins, the Goold girls, became her beloved sisters: Margaret (deceased) (Hollis) Earnest of Spring Grove, IL; Mary Ann Goold of Julian, CA; Ruth (Ray) Stankowski of Concord, CA; Genie(Paul) Durand of Waukegan, IL; and Patricia (Geoff) Munro of Oklahoma City, OK. She is survived by them and many 2nd and 3rd cousins. In marriage, five step-children were added: Sheryl (Gary) Holman of Fostoria, OH; Jack (Mary Lou) Rochotte of McConnelsville, OH; Bret (Wendy) Rochotte of New Bremen, OH; Neil (Sally) Rochotte of Blissfield, MI; and Matt (Sally) Rochotte of Spring Hill, TN. Thirteen step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren loved and called Marte “Grandma.” She was also godmother to Jeff Hemenway and Jackie Griffin, children of her dear lifelong friend, Jody Boughton.
Deeply loved by everyone who knew her, Marte enjoyed life and was known for her upbeat, positive attitude. She enjoyed gardening, was a member of the Tiffin Red Hat Cuties and attended Christ Church at Tiffin. She loved seeing animals at her friend Charlene’s home, and attending Bible Study at Legacy Life Enrichment Center in Attica. Marte loved her sweet dogs, Honey and Happy, who were her true companions.
Marte not only lit up a room with humor and her whole hearted laughter, she was a jokester; sharing jokes as her mantra for life. She knew how to take life lightly and always kept conversations rolling. Marte will be greatly missed.
