Martha Jean Smith, 93, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at The Courtyard in Tiffin.
Martha was born in Tiffin, on December 28, 1932, to the late Harry W. and Alice E. (Long) Duffey. She married Charles H. Smith in Kentucky, on October 18, 1948 and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her three daughters, Susan Arnett of Tiffin, Carol Leinwohl of Vermont, and Nancy (Brad) Meadows of Sycamore, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Dale Duffey of Ada, OH and Bob Runion of Tiffin, two sisters, Joyce Moyer of Tiffin and Shirley Ann Freeze of Green Springs.
Martha retired from General Electric after twenty-one years and also worked at Ballreich’s in Tiffin. She was a member of Tiffin Church of the Nazarene. Martha was a graduate of Melmore High School.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, four brothers, Harry Jr., Glen and Virgil Duffey and Dick Runion, and two sisters, Ruth Hurt and Frances Feasel.
Funeral services for Martha will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2026 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Monday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Monday, at Seneca Memory Gardens.
