Mary Alice Roe, 81 of Tiffin, passed away January 2, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.
Mary was born June 28, 1940 in Frankfort, IN, to Edward and Lima (Hansell) Fitzwater. On June 14, 1959 she married William R. Roe Sr. and he preceded her in death in October of 2019.
Survivors include her son, Bill (Selena) Roe of Tiffin, a daughter, Tuesday (James) Browning of Northport, FL., eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two sisters, Geneva (Wayne) Cook, Susan (Frank) Pate and a brother, Marvin (Ruthy) Fitzwater, brother in-law, Larry (Shirley) Scott.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a teenage son, James, three brothers, Melvin, Herman and Junior and a sister, Shirley.
Mary lived in Tiffin for fifty years. She worked at General Electric, Eckrich meats and Budd Company of Carey where she retired from in 2008. She was an avid camping and fishing companion. She made her retirement all about camping, fishing and reading, but her favorite pass time was spent watching and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an amazing wife, mother grandmother, friend and neighbor.
There will be no funeral at this time. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin will handle all arrangements for burial. There will be a graveside service held at a later date where both Mary and Bill's ashes will be laid to rest with their son, James at Seneca Memory Gardens.
Mary asked that all memorial contributions be made to cancer awareness or women's ovarian cancer.
