It is with deep love and sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Louise Veletean, who left us peacefully surrounded by her children on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the age of 78.
She married Thomas Veletean on August 6, 1993, who proceeded her in death. Mary was a graduate of Attica High School in 1964 and soon after became a homemaker doing what she loved the most, raising her babies. Later in life she was employed at Sutton Bank in Attica until retirement.
Born on November 8, 1946, in Tiffin, Ohio to Burdell and Wanda (Allgyre) Enders. Mary lived a life filled with compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the heart of our home – a constant source of warmth, guidance, and unconditional love. Her kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Whether she was cooking a favorite meal, offering a listening ear, or sharing words of encouragement, she touched the lives of all who knew her.
Mary was the proud mother of five children; Laurie (Gary) Shellhouse, Sherri (Masami) Adachi, Penny (Dave) Daniel, Tammy (Steve) Heal, and Kurt (Keren) Keaton. Her greatest joy came from watching her family grow, celebrating every milestone, and offering comfort in every challenge. She taught us the values of hard work, determination, and generosity, lessons that will remain with us forever. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her immense joy and happiness.
She is also survived by grandchildren; Kirsten (Shane) Rodabaugh, Ashton (Jordan) Bowerman, Jarred Shellhouse, Seina (Josiah Ingram) Adachi, Addison (Nathan) Snavely, Breawna (Prescott) Lillo, Marina Adachi, Elijah Heal, Ava, Mia, Alexis, and Quinn Keaton; step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Redd, Kai and Sebastian Young; great-grandchildren, Barrett and Bexley Bowerman, Ella Rodabaugh, Lakyn and Hayes Snavely, and Silas Lillo; sisters, Evelyn (Duane) Scherley and Burdella Stuckert; sister-in-law, Joyce Enders, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends who cherished her friendship and grace.
Though our hearts ache with loss, we find comfort in knowing she rests in eternal peace, reunited with loved ones who went before her. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us every day. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice, especially Jen and Amanda. The Willows of Tiffin for their devoted and compassionate care for both of our parents. They went above and beyond to meet all of their needs, and for that we will forever be grateful.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville with Joseph P. Joseph officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, from 5-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday, at St. Peter & Paul cemetery in Attica.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County Humane Society.
