Mary I. Welty, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at her residence.
Mary was born January 15, 1953, in Tiffin, to the late Robert and Ester Remsberg.
Mary is survived by her three children, Michael (Michelle) Kipps of Hanover, Pennsylvania, Jaime (Brad) Matthews of Mobile, Alabama and Eric (Brooke) Welty of Urbana, Ohio. Mary enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren; Kayla, Garrett, Logan and Benjamin Kipps, Maysen and Alysen Matthews, Camryn, Adisyn, Reagyn and Jordyn Welty and a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Artz. Mary is also survived by her sister, Della (Bob) Lofay and a brother, Michael Remsberg and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Carol Remsberg, Roberta Smith, Yolanda “Kathy” Burns and an infant brother, Charles Remsberg.
Mary retired from Tiffin Developmental Center in 2018, where she worked for over twenty years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and of the Calvert family. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and babysat for many years with numerous children some of whom were still in touch with her.
Mary enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, fishing and collecting moose, her favorite animal. She loved her cat "Pepper", watching Notre Dame football and her favorite show Supernatural. Mary was loved by many and will be missed by all.
There will be visitation held for Mary, on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 4-7 p.m., at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. A graveside service for Mary, will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., at Fairmont cemetery.
