Survivors include her sons, Ron (Cathy) Heyman of Attica, Doug (Tonya) Heyman of Attica and Eric (Sharon) Heyman of Monroeville, seven grandchildren, Joe (Heather Niedermeier) Heyman of Attica, Jenn (Reggie Gamble) Heyman of Wakeman, Kate (Ross) Jones of Attica, Steve (Amy) Heyman of Delaware, Elizabeth (Sean) Wurster of Findlay, Jessica Lopez of Florida, Danny (Carolina) Radebaugh of Germany, seven great-grandchildren, Carolynn and Ronald Heyman of Attica, Phoenyx Gamble of Wakeman and Daniel Jones of Attica, Aaden, Carina, Demi Radebaugh all of Germany, a sister-in-law, Judy Walter of Bloomville, two nephews, Kevin (Gail) Walter, Kris (Christa) Walter and a niece, Kara (Scott) Rowlinson.
Maxine retired from Seneca East School District and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Attica where she held various offices at the church and also helped with funeral lunches. Maxine was a 1958 graduate of Attica School, a member of American Legion Auxiliary and held many offices and was very involved with the Attica Fair, where she was the recipient of the Irene Martin Service Award in 2008. Maxine and her husband were also very involved with Seneca East Athletics and the building of Cook Field.
Maxine had many priorities in her life that she lived for, faith, family and her community being some of the most important. Her family always came first, if it was her children and watching them grow or even all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren watching them in all they were involved with. She never missed anything and there was little time for sitting still and relaxing. Anyone who knew Maxine knows there were no strangers to her throughout her life. She was a friend to all!
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Justin Heyman and a brother, Fred Walter.
Funeral services for Maxine will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Ed Hunker officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, from 3-6 p.m., at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville. Burial will follow the services on Tuesday, at Attica Venice cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to Attica Venice Volunteer Fire Department.
