Melvin King Turpin

Melvin King Turpin, 83, of Skygusty, WV, and formerly of Fostoria OH, went to his Heavenly home Friday, June 18, 2021 at Charleston Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.

Melvin was born November 10, 1937 in Kimball, WV, to the late King Turpin and Bertha Church Turpin. He married Linda Forrest in Pikeville, KY on May 24, 1960 and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn (Tony) Ayala of Fostoria, Janice (Dennis) Turpin-Webb of Tiffin, Melinda Turpin of Skygusty, WV, Melissa (Orville) Miller of Fostoria, twelve grandchildren, Jessica Switzer, Daniel Miller, Danielle Webb, Desiray Fortune, Josh Green, Amanda Nitschke, Evelyn Turpin, John Jr., Amber, Adam, Angie Broski, Tabitha Ogden, twenty great grandchildren, four brothers, James Turpin of WV, Robert Turpin, Doug Turpin and Roger Turpin all of OH, five sisters, Katharyn Graham, Alice Hatfield, Theresa McPhail, Linda Holcomb all of OH and Sandra Young of Alabama.

Melvin was a retired Lead Man/Mill Operator with 30 years of service for Roppe Corp. in Fostoria. He worked seven years for the railroad and also coal mined when he was 15 to 17. He had many God given talents and was very gifted when it came to auto repair. 

Melvin was a member of Conklintown Church Of God in Anawalt, WV. 

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, Jack Turpin, Wayne Turpin and two sisters, Virginia Burks and Pauline Davis. 

Funeral services for Melvin will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Tiffin, with Pastor Mike Holcomb officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 11:00-1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial for Melvin will follow the service on Wednesday, at Seneca Memory Gardens in Tiffin.
