Michael E. “Kizzy” Kisabeth, 68, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at his home.
Kizzy was born on May 20, 1955, Burtonwood Royal Air Force Base in Burtonwood, England, to the late Virgil and Mary (McKevitt) Kisabeth. He married Alice (Bair) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, on May 9, 1987, and she survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include a step-daughter, Tina (Dennis) Burris of Naples, FL, two grandchildren, Anthony (Brooke) Bour and Amanda Bour, three great-grandchildren, Matteo, Gwendolyn and Penelope, a sister, Yvonne Schock of Tiffin, two nephews, Matthew (Brianne) Schock, Adam (Nikki) Schock, a niece, Jennifer (Nick) Evans and nine great-nieces and nephews.
Kizzy retired from Mercy-Tiffin Hospital as Materials Manager after 37 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin. Kizzy was a 1973 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and also attended Heidelberg College. He was an avid sports fan and loved following Columbus Blue Jackets, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, where he attended a game every year for 61 straight years. He enjoyed bowling, playing men’s softball and baseball for many years and traveling to Niagara Falls with his wife, while stopping by the casino for some gambling.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Schock officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, from 1-4:00 p.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will follow the services on Monday, at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
