Michael E. Stephens, 61, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.
Michael was born August 8, 1964, in Tiffin, to Larry D. and Sue (Zoeller) Stephens.
Survivors include his mother, Sue Stephens of Tiffin, three children, Amber (Jay) Klempner of Erie, MI, Michael (Taylor) Duncan and Ashley Stephens both of Mansfield, ten grandchildren, a brother, Mark (Denise) Stephens of Tiffin and a sister, Sherri (Tony) Schumm of Radnor, OH.
Michael was a truck driver and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mike’s younger years he could be found spending almost every weekend with his grandfather, Elmer Zoeller, and this started Mike’s interest in working on cars, motors and heavy equipment. Mike’s later years were dedicated to children and grandchildren. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved anything racing related. If Mike was not actually racing himself, he would be watching his son, Michael race and watching racing on TV. Mike was a 1983 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, a United States Army and Ohio National Guard Veteran. Mike also played drums and was a singer in many bands in the Tiffin area.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Larry D. Stephens.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-6 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2026 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will follow the services on Tuesday, at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
