Obituary

Murray Franklin Rhoads, 58, of Tiffin, passed away at 4:39 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

Murray was born February 27, 1964, in Fremont, to the late Franklin and Wilma (Smith) Rhoads.

Survivors include his two sisters, Deb Raby of Bucyrus and Diane Klaiss of Bettsville, nieces and nephews, Brad Klaiss, Robert Klaiss both of Bettsville, Angie Klaiss of Oak Harbor, Chris Raby of Nevada, Eloise Joyce of Lancaster, SC, Zach Rhoads of Tiffin, Richard Rhoads II of Germany and Lisa Matthews of CA.

Murray worked many years for Bettsville IGA, then at Foodtown in Tiffin till they closed and finally at Fremont's Kroger until he got hurt on the job. He loved working with his many co-workers and talking to the customers who came in to shop. He will be remembered for his ability to joke around and being able to make everyone smile or laugh.

Murray was a very avid fan of the Detroit Lions, Detroit Red Wings and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also was an avid Star Trek fan and the Blues Brothers. He also enjoyed listening to Blues and Jazz music with his favorite musician being Eric Clapton.

Murray was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Richard and David Rhoads, a niece, Monica Rhoads and a brother-in-law, Gene Raby.

Graveside services for Murray will be at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Smith cemetery. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
