Paul W. Garn, 91, of Bettsville, passed away July 17, 2024 at his residence.
Paul was born on December 5, 1932, in Bettsville, to the late Gerald and Louise (Mowery) Garn. He married Mary "Sue" (Jeanette) in Greenup, KY on January 26, 1952 and she preceded him in death on January 22, 2021.
Survivors include his children, Vicki (David) Schade of Bettsville, Diane (Jim) Fruchey of Kansas, Paul (Angie) Garn of Bettsville and Lisa (Randy) Lippert of Green Springs, twelve grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren, two brothers, Ned (Judy) Garn and J. David (Phyllis) Garn, a sister, Carol Jean (Larry) Robinett, sisters-in-law, Lorna Garn, Alice Jeanette and many nieces and nephews.
Paul worked at and retired from both Basic Incorporated and Brush-Wellman and was an active member of the Salem-United Methodist Church in Bettsville. He graduated from Bettsville High School in 1950. He enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting with his friends over coffee at the local gas station and repairing lawn mowers for himself and others.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roger Garn, sister, Pat (Frank) Fausey, Audrey (Andy) Fedeles, an infant sister, Nancy Garn, three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services for Paul will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Pleasant Union cemetery in Old Fort with Chaplin Tom Dennis officiating. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Bettsville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
