Phyllis Wisebaker Obituary

Phyllis Joan Wisebaker, 93 was born in Tiffin to Frank and Mildred (Lutz) Ward on January 21, 1933. She graduated from Columbian High School in 1950. She then married her high school sweetheart Bob Wisebaker on June 22, 1951, at Washington Street Methodist church in Tiffin by Rev. Bill Williams.

Phyllis first worked at Ohio Power. Then, after having 5 children, Phyllis worked first at the Clinton Elementary school in the cafeteria and later moved up to the cafeteria at Columbian High School, for approximately 20 years.

Phyllis enjoyed music, whether singing in the Washington Street United Methodist choir, playing the cello in school, or playing the piano and organ for many occasions, as well as for her own pleasure. Phyllis and Bob spent many winters in Florida at Recreation Plantation RV Park. They also traveled all around the United States in their RV. Phyllis was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Tiffin.

Phyllis is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 75 years Bob and her five children – Dale (Joyce) Wisebaker of Tiffin, OH; Diane Ingmire of Columbus, OH; Deb (Paul Phillips) Johnson of Durham, NC; Dennis (Paula) Wisebaker of Frederick, MD; and Duane (Cheryl) of Wylie, TX. She was enamored of her grandchildren – Laura Repasky (Michael), Jonathan Wisebaker (Elaine), Jason Dombrowski (Carrie), David Michael Ingmire (Mallery), Libby Dulaney (Jason), Renata Spencer (Brent), Michael Wisebaker (Trish), and April Wisebaker. Also, her great grandchildren – Evan and Erin Wisebaker; Noah, Lauren, and Clara Dombrowski; Olivia and Chloe Ingmire; Brenden, Lorelei, and Isabelle Dulaney; Varenna and Sienna Spencer; and Alex Wisebaker. She is also survived by her brother Arthur (Shirley) Ward of Indiana, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Margaret (Carl) Riddle, and a brother, Kenneth (Peg) Ward.

Funeral services for Phyllis will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2026 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Friday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Greenlawn cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Seneca County Humane Society or Heartland Hospice.
