Raymond A. Wise

Raymond Wise, 92, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at The Willows of Tiffin.

Raymond was born August 28, 1932, in East Liverpool, OH, to the late Harry Raymond and Bertha Laura (Jones) Wise. He married Patricia (Heiland) in Chicago on June 26, 1965 and she survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include his sons, Raymond (Kelly) Wise of Tiffin and William (Amy) Wise of Grove City, OH, five grandchildren, Renee, Bryton, Garrett, Nathan and Morgan, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Howard and five sisters, Thelma, Betty, Ruby, Bonnie and Millie.

Raymond worked as a Physics Professor and the College Registrar for Heidelberg University. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Tiffin and Kiwanis Club. Raymond enjoyed astronomy and was very involved in church and many social and academic activities at Heidelberg University. He took pride in his family and was a very involved father and grandfather.

Funeral services for Raymond will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025 at First Lutheran Church in Tiffin with Rev. Douglas DeVos officiating. Military Rites will be rendered by the United Veterans Council. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be held at Greenlawn cemetery at a later date. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
