Rebecca S. Shank, 73, of Tiffin, passed away at 4:43 a.m., peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family after a difficult battle with cancer.
Becky was born March 1, 1948, in Ashland, to the late William Sr. and Fern Darlene (Biddinger) Snook. She married James R. Shank in Ashland, on July 13, 1968.
Survivors include her husband, of 52 years, James R. Shank of Tiffin, two daughters, Melissa (Robert) Bowers and Michelle (Karl) Kurtz, a son, Jared (Michelle) Shank all of Tiffin, six grandchildren, Garrett and Gavin Bowers, Will and Grant Kurtz, Tyler and Rylee Shank and two brothers, William E. "Bill" (Bev) Snook Jr. of Ashland and Jeff (Amy) Snook of Atlantis, FL.
Becky worked for 23 years as the Executive Director of Community Hospice Care. She was a 1966 graduate of Ashland High School and a 1969 graduate of Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. Becky was very involved in the community for many years and giving of her time on many different local boards including, St. Francis Spirituality Center Board, Community Counsel, Allen Eiry, Tiffin Developmental Center Board, Seneca County Health Department Board, Mercy Hospital Board of Managers, St. Francis Board of Trustees, Alzheimer's Committee, Leadership Seneca County, Modern Woodmen of America Chapter Advisor and Mercy Home Care.
Funeral services for Becky will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday, at Greenlawn cemetery.
