Rene L. Clinger, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away surrounded by her loving family and her dearest friend on February 18, 2024, at the age of 70. She was born on January 13, 1954, in Tiffin, to Robert J. Rohrbach and Opal Schubert. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1972 graduate of Columbian High School.
On June 13, 1981, Rene married John Clinger by exchanging vows in their home with the love and support of their family and friends.
Rene was a woman of many talents and passions, but above all, she was dedicated to her family. She was sweet, kind, compassionate, welcoming, honest, dependable, gifted, and resilient, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and her annual Halloween party was a beloved tradition for her entire family. Her kindness, compassion and welcoming nature made her a cherished friend too many, and her creativity and talent were evident in her love of crafting and reading.
Rene is survived by her loving husband, John Clinger; her sons, Michael R. (Christine) Rohrbach of Bascom, Jeremy (Nicole) Clinger of Tiffin, Bradley (Brittany) Clinger of Fremont, and daughter, Nicole "Sissy" (Aaron) Schreiner of Tiffin; her grandchildren, Kane, Kali, Karlie, Brennen, Hannah, Morgan, Aubrey, Alyssa, Landon, Logan, Brayden, Bridget, Kayden, and Cooper; her great-grandchildren, Amaurie and Ila; a brother Joseph (Connie Haynes) Rohrbach of Willard and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Opal; her son, Nicholas Clinger; and her great-granddaughter, Vera Rohrbach.
Rene’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, and her love and devotion to her family will never be forgotten.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin with Pastor James Martin officiating.
