Richard L. “Swede” Cramer, 79, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.
Dick was born September 2, 1944, in Tiffin, to the late Frederick and Ruth (Werley) Cramer. On April 24, 1981 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tiffin he married Karen (Ruffing) who survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include his son, Matthew (Elyse) Cramer and their son, Myles of Tiffin, sisters, Judy Gustafson of Punta Gorda, FL and Jean Reidel of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick “Butch” Cramer, sisters, Janet “Mary” Cramer and Kathleen Reinhart.
Dick was a 1962 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School and was employed by Atlas Crankshaft for 30 plus years. He was a lifelong Cleveland Sport and Ohio State fan, rarely missing a Browns, Guardians or Buckeyes game. He also loved playing with his grandson, Myles, gardening and vacationing in Florida. Dick was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he will be tremendously missed by all who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Wednesday, from 10:30 until 12:30 p.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
