Richard "Dick" C. Seither, 88, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, at Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Dick was born on November 9, 1933, in Germantown, Pennsylvania to Leonard and Sarah (Brown) Seither. He married Patricia (Kafigian) Schultz and had five children. They later divorced. He then married Nancy (Mellinger) Lewis on February 11, 1978, and they lived in McComb. When Richard retired from Ohio Automotive Supply in Findlay, he bought his family’s summer home in Cape May Point, New Jersey and made it their year-round home. They spent many years on the beach. His family enjoyed many years with him swimming, sunbathing, playing games on the back porch and eating seafood and foods famous to the area.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles and golf. He enjoyed watching Westerns and he loved his classic country music.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Kenneth Paul, cousin, Bob George and brother-in-law, Edward Harp.
Dick is survived by his wife of 44 years who he adored right up to his last breath; his daughter, Shelley (Ray) Reyes of Tiffin; three sons, Richard C. Seither Jr. and James (Alicia) Seither both of McComb and Christopher Seither of Fostoria; three stepsons, Michael (Pebbles) Lewis of California, Gary (Sherri) Lewis of Rock Creek and Roger (JoAnn) Lewis of Florida; 13 grandchildren, Jason (Becca) Bunker, Deidra (Chad) Vance, Marissa Dingledine, Paul (Jessica) Striff, Jennifer (Derek) Daugherty, Jackie (Rusty) Aldrich, Tesla (Kane) Seither, Talon Seither, Kennedy (Spencer) Seither, Cayden Seither, Brandi (Adam) Auralia, Cheyenne (Ian) Columbo and Nadia (Scott) Dunbar; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Irva (Bud) Harp of Maryland; a brother, Leonard C Seither Jr. of New Jersey; cousin, Barb (Bob) George; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He will be missed by his family and many friends.
There will be a service at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Ray and Shelley’s home, 55 Northview Drive, Tiffin, Ohio, with a reception to follow as a Day of Remembrance. Those who knew Richard and/or the family are welcome to attend. There will be a private family burial held at Woodlawn cemetery.
