Robert G. "Bob" DeWald

Robert G. "Bob" DeWald, 84, of Tiffin, passed away at 8:35 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Hope Cape Hospice Care Center in Cape Coral, FL.

Bob was born August 21, 1937, in Tiffin, to the late Alfred and Orphia (Grimes) DeWald. He married Judy (Davis) DeWald in Columbus, OH on July 30, 1960 and she survives in Florida.

Survivors include his children, Rebecca (Bruce) Miller of Mount Juliet, TN, six grandchildren, Trent (Cristi) Rexing of Dallas, Abbey Rexing of Dallas, Claire Rexing of Dallas, Ryann (Jon) Lorenz of Columbus, Megan Miller of Chicago, IL, Garrett Miller Biloxi, MS and a great-granddaughter, Reagan Rexing with one more on the way.

Bob was employed by the Central Soya Co. in Fort Wayne, IN for 33 years. He held the position of Director of Purchasing for several years. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Tiffin, the Mason's and Shriners of Fort Wayne. Bob was also an active member of the Bascom Lions Club. His occupation allowed him to live in many states. While working, he enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips. After retirement, Bob moved to his family farm in Tiffin, Ohio. Bob loved to boat and fish at his trailer at Catawba Point on Lake Erie. Many winters were spent at his condo with friends in Fort Myers, FL.  Bob was a 1955 graduate of Hopewell Loudon High School. While at The Ohio State University, Bob was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Bob graduated in 1960 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Agricultural Economics.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Deborah Rexing.

There will be a Celebration of Bob's Life at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. There will be a private family burial held at Sand Ridge cemetery in Bascom.
