Robert L. Fey, 88, of Tiffin, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at his home.
Bob was born in Tiffin on July 4, 1933, to the late Lewis L. and Irma (Reese) Fey. He was a 1951 graduate of Columbian High School and later received his bachelor's degree from Regis University.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Fey (Jane Kemp) and Jim Fey; two nephews; and brother-in-law, Thomas Waters. He leaves behind to grieve his loss his wife, Dorothy Fey of Tiffin; children Ron Fey and Wendy Fey of Tiffin; sister Lois Waters of Slingerlands, NY; and brother Steven (Tami Cowden) of Las Vegas, NV. Also surviving are loving nieces and nephews, Dawn Myres, Edward Waters, Martin Fey and Kate Fey.
Bob served as an MP in the US Army during the Korean War. Bob worked at the Pioneer Mill, Sterling Grinding Wheel Co., Cooper Tire, and National Machinery. Eventually, Bob left Tiffin and moved to San Jose, CA where he began working as a draftsman for IBM and met Dorothy. He was promoted to mechanical engineer and moved with IBM to Boca Raton, FL, and Longmont, CO. In 1998 he retired to Cortez, CO and snow-birded in Casa Grande, AZ, before returning to Tiffin in 2016. Bob was known for his sense of humor, his mechanical abilities, and his enjoyment of maintaining a perfectly manicured lawn.
The family will be holding a private virtual celebration of life ceremony. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca County Museum.
