Ronald Fowler Obituary

Ronald L. Fowler, 87, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

Ron was born on February 25, 1937 in Lima to the late Lloyd and Gladys (Fett) Fowler. He married Virginia R. (Haugh) at the Hopewell Church of God on July 26, 1959.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Fowler of Tiffin, a son, Rocky (Bridget) Fowler of Bascom, two daughters, Valorie (Glenn) Gillig of Tiffin and Julie (Dominic) Roberts of Port Clinton, four grandchildren, Lori (Andy) Clouse of Tiffin, Christopher (Matthew) Mack of Toledo, Ashley (Jeremy) Gregg of Sycamore, Austin (Taylor) Harrison of Tiffin, twelve great-grandchildren, Michaela, Blake, Adalyn, Rowan, Rosalie, Eloise, Raegan, Blair, Cordelia, Ambrose, Forrest and Harrison and two brothers, Steve (Barb) Fowler of Massillon and John (Kathy) Fowler of Canton.

Ron retired from National Machinery in 2000. He was a 42 year Seneca County Sherriff’s Deputy, a Volunteer Fireman with Bascom and a lifelong farmer. Ron was a member of Hopewell Church of God in Bascom, the Seneca County Antique Machinery Club and a 1955 graduate of Old Fort High School. Ron enjoyed going to auctions, food, giving gator rides to his grandchildren, eating lunch with the “Lunch Bunch” and anything that was free. Ron was a United States Air Force Veteran.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Fowler.

Funeral services for Ron will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024 with Pastor Bob Green officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, from 2-8 p.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. There will be no burial held at this time and Military Rites will be rendered by the United Veterans Council on Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. There will also be a time of food and fellowship held at Hopewell Church of God following the services on Saturday.
