Ronald Johnson Obituary

Ronald Dale Johnson was born into this life on October 19, 1947 to a loving family of Ross Thomas Johnson Sr. and Eula Mae (Williams) in Portsmouth, Ohio. Ron was welcomed to by an older sister, Betsy Aikman and a brother, Ross “Tom” (Janice) Johnson. Ron became an older brother to Glen “Clem” (Nina) Johnson, who preceded him in death along with his brother-in-law, Ted Aikman.

Ron graduated from Old Fort high School and later served in the United States Army as a Tank Operator. Ron belonged to the VFW, DAV, and Amvets. After service he became a father of two sons, Rodney (Rachel Marshall) Johnson of United Kingdom, and James (Alexis Goforth) Johnson of Kentucky. Ron loved his sons very much. Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time in the outdoors and in nature, and also loved his animals especially his Jack Russell, Pepper Girl and his cat, Autumn. By trade Ron was a tool and die maker for Toledo machining plant and retired in 2006.

Ron met and fell in love with Marie Drown, and often called her, his Green Eyed Girl. They were individuals yet as a team they excelled.  Ron and Marie were united in marriage on January 11, 1997 in Bascom Ohio. Ron was gifted with two grandsons, Joseph (Trisha) Stauffer and Alexander (Diana) Johnson. The love of family continued to grow with the addition of great grandchildren, Zaidyn Stauffer, Ariyah Stauffer and Charlotte Johnson. Ron made a full circle and was able to go home on October 11th to celebrate his mother's birthday with her in heaven.
