Ronald E. Kagy, 83, of Bloomville, passed peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 9, 2024, after an extensive battle with cancer.
Ron was born on April 14, 1941, in Bloomville, to Howard and Winona (Loyer) Kagy, where he lived his entire life.
He graduated from Bloomville High School in 1959 and then started farming with his father on the family farm. Following in his father’s footsteps, Ron hauled hogs for many years under the business name Kagy Farms. Ron was a lifelong farmer and a longtime member of the Bloomville Young Farmers, also a member of the Bloomville Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Bloomville United Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending his winters in Bonita Springs, Florida, where he spent time with many old and new friends.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Linda (Sievert) Kagy of Bloomville. Three sons, Troy (Deb) Kagy of Bloomville, Scott (Laura) Kagy of Bloomville, and Douglas (Tracey) Kagy of Lewis Center, Ohio, eight grandchildren, Falynne, Reid, Ethan, Taylor, Katrina, Caroline, Elijah, and Kyrie, and ten great-grandchildren, and by a sister, Marvel Jean Riley of Naperville, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers-in-law.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, May 12, 2024, from 2-5 p.m. at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville.
Funeral services for Ronnie will be Monday, May 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Tom Kagy officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Independent Fair, or to F.A.C.T. or to the Bloomville UCC Church.
