Ruth Marie Covert

Ruth Marie Covert, 79, of Republic, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at her residence.

Ruth was born September 11, 1945, in rural Green Springs, to the late George Ernest and Hazel Meisner. She married Thomas R. Covert in Cooper, OH on June 30, 1963 and he survives in Republic.

Other survivors include her two sons, Richard (Karen) Covert of Tiffin, Steven (Janice) Covert of Clyde, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ruth worked at St. Francis Convent and the Eaton Singer Corporation. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Republic, Farm Bureau and was a 1963 graduate of Thompson High School.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Douglas Covert, a grandson, TJ Spencer, two brothers, Paul Meisner and Earl Meisner and a half sister, Mary Culbertson.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 2-4:00 p.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde at a later date.
