Sandra Sue (Altman) Kuntz, 76, of Bloomville, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.
Sandy was born in Tiffin, on June 13, 1947 to the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Wahrer) Altman. She married Larry C. Kuntz at Bloomville United Church of Christ on September 9, 1967 and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2023.
Survivors include her son, Graig (Terri) Kuntz of Arcadia, daughter, Deborah Kieffer of Clyde, five grandchildren, Angie (Huston) Higgins, Brendan Baker, Taylor Fieger, Trent Kieffer, Alexis (Kevin) McGough, three great-grandchildren, Nash Higgins, Eleanor McGough and Hayes Higgins.
Sandy retired from Tiffin City Schools as a teachers’ aide. She was a member of Bloomville United Church of Christ in Bloomville and a friend of Bliss Memorial Library. Sandy was a 1965 graduate of Bloomville High School.
Sandy loved her family, especially her husband, Larry of 56 years. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports throughout their careers and watching them grow into adults and her three great-grandchildren had a way of lighting up her face like nothing else. Sandy enjoyed traveling to see lighthouses and especially Marblehead Lighthouse and relaxing with the family during long weekends at her son and daughter-in-law’s cabin on Iron Lake, MI. Sandy also enjoyed sitting on her front porch drinking coffee with her husband and their dog rebel watching the hummingbirds and sun rises. Sandy cherished her girl trips with Sandy M., Carol and Janet.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters, Marjorie Ekelberry, Geraldine Cochran and Joan McCann.
Funeral services for Sandy and Larry will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville.
