Shirley A. Bird

Shirley A. Bird, 72, of Tiffin, Ohio, passed away at 11:45am on Friday, July 21, 2023 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Shirley was born January 23, 1951, in Fostoria, OH, to the late Carl and Mary (Carter) Cardwell. She married William Bird in Tiffin on June 26, 1977 and he resides in Tiffin.

Survivors include her children, Ronald Cardwell of Tiffin, Richard Drew of Upper Sandusky, Willa Thomas of Findlay, and Jennifer (Jeremy) Montoney of Willard, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren

Shirley worked as press operator at Toledo Molding and Dye for many years. She valued her time spent with family, spoiling her beloved grandchildren Andrew and Maddie, playing games, reading, and traveling to the beach.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Phillip and Anthony Cardwell and her two sisters Carol Coleman and Linda Holcomb, and her niece Sissy Holcomb.

There will be a memorial service held for Shirley on Friday July 28, 2023 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Funeral service for family and friends will begin at 2pm. Visitation will be from 12pm until the time of service. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
