It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Hoover, beloved father, grandpa, and friend, who left us on November 25, 2024, at the age of 64.
Steve was born on May 5, 1960 in Tiffin, to John and Virginia Hoover.
Steve, also known as “Boone” to friends and family was loved by so many because of his kind heart and easy going personality. Steve was a loving dad to his girls, and often loved reflecting on memories from the past. A lover of nature and the outdoors found peace and contentment in the warmth of a campfire. He cherished the nights spent gathered around the fire with family and friends, sharing stories, and making memories. The crackling fire served as a reminder of his love for life’s simple pleasures, whether it was the laughter of loved ones, or the comfort of quiet moments spent together.
Steve was a very creative soul, developing multiple patents, and involved in Research and Development at Ballreich’s where he was employed for 30 years and retiring as Vice President. He enjoyed playing the guitar and had a deep affection for dogs especially his best boy Frank.
Steve is survived by his daughters, April and husband Robert, Amanda and husband Dustin, grandchildren, Emmy, Brady, Levi and Deanna, his father John, brother, John Jr. and his wife Eileen, sister, Sherrie and many nieces and nephews. Steve is also survived by Daniel, Brian and Andy, the sons he never had but with whom he shared a special bond.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Hoover.
Rest in peace, dad. Your love will continue to light our way, like the glow of a campfire on a starry night.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.shookfamilyfh.com.
