Thomas M. Emerson, 89, of Tiffin and former Centerville and Sidney resident, passed away Friday morning, April 14, 2023, at Mercy Hospital–Tiffin.
Thomas was born January 8, 1934, in Bloomville, to the late William R. and Helen R. (Smith) Emerson. He married Inez Weisenberger on May18, 1968, in Trotwood, Ohio, and she survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include his children a son, Robert (Lisa) Emerson of Springboro, three daughters, Sharon (James) Lappin of North Ridgeville, Lisa (Doug) Snyder of Bucyrus, and Lynne (Don) Geary of Tiffin, a step-daughter, Kimberly Cooper of Alvaton, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, a brother David W. (Moonyeen) Emerson of Indio, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert R. and a sister,
Reba French, two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Thomas worked as a certified real estate appraiser, and real estate broker for a great number of years in the Centerville and Sidney areas. He was a 1952 graduate of Bloom Twp. High School, a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Tiffin, a member of the Fraternal of Order Police in Dayton. He enjoyed going camping and was a member of the Good Sam’s RV Club, and he also obtained his airplane pilot’s license, and loved his cars and reading Poplar Mechanics magazine.
Services for Thomas will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville, with Rev. Karsten Snitker officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday April 18, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
