Thomas Allen Grimes

Thomas  Allen  Grimes, 62, of  Tiffin, passed Monday, April19, 2021 after an extended battle with cancer. He was born June 1, 1958 in Cleveland, to Norman and Christine (Phillips) Grimes.

He was a graduate of Columbian High School in Tiffin. Thom was a person of many talents, being an independent contractor his entire adult life. He loved playing guitar, singing and was also a good artist.

Thom was known as a “spirited” individual, and with certainty the word “mischief”   need not be removed from various facets of his personality. He had a unique sense of humor and could see the funnier side of a situation.

Folks could be drawn to his charismatic personality. There is proof in this as during the last two days of his life a group of friends were at his bedside and never left, offering comfort and playing his favorite music with their instruments. In spite of a very weakened condition, Thom managed to express a line or two of a song and get a few beats in on the “bongo”.

During a visit the last week of his life, Thom declared, “I  am  ready to meet Jesus, I want to see Jesus” although did not desire to sadden those left behind. Thom would desire all his friends and loved ones to make peace with the Lord Jesus and allow Him to be in their lives, as Jesus is our Living Hope.

Preceding Thom in death were his loving parents, Norm and Christine, nephew   Christopher Cole as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Thom is survived by brothers, Tim (Sharon) Grimes, Mark  Grimes, Matt  Grimes, his  aunt Glenna and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank his long faithful companion, Stella Hayes and staff of  Bridge Hospice for the compassionate care of Thom. Also thanks to his many friends for their comfort.

A memorial service will be held at Evangelical Faith Fellowship Church, 940 New Washington Road, Bloomville Ohio on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Tim Grimes officiating. A lunch is to follow at the church for all those who attend or desire to come.
