Thomas Peer

Thomas G. Peer, age 63, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026 at his home in Tiffin. Tom was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in February of this year and fought a hard and courageous battle. 

Tom was born to the late James and Virginia Peer on April 28, 1963 in Tiffin. On September 23, 2000, Tom married Peggy Morehart who resides in Tiffin, along with his son Tommy (Alexis) Peer. 

Tom is survived by his siblings, James (Teresa) Peer, Pamela Peer (Dennis Krupp), Debra (Byron) Sohovich, Jacqueline (Nelson) Stover, Judy (David) Ziegler, Steven (Christine) Peer, and Jeffrey Peer. 

His father-in-law Carl and Ginger Morehart, Sisters-in-law Brenda S. Gessner, Tina M. Morehart, Laurie A. Shupe, Sarah (Aaron) Gooding, Nikki (Frank) Sanchez, brother-in-law Carl W. Morehart II. 

Aunts and uncles Marilou Hill, Doris and Carl Feasel, and Jane and Roger Rinehart. He was also an uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

He is proceeded in death by his parents, James and Virginia Peer, mother-in-law, Anna L. Morehart, and brothers-in-law Jim Gessner and Joseph Shupe. 

Tom graduated from Tiffin Calvert in 1981. He was a member of the 1980 and 1981 championship football teams. He worked for Consolidated Biscuit for 30 years before retiring due to health reasons. 

Tom loved cheering on the Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Browns and the OSU Buckeyes. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing baseball. However, Tom's biggest joy in life was his wife Peggy and son Tommy. Family meant everything to Tom.

Funeral services for Tom will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tiffin.

Come dressed in your Browns, Guardians or OSU shirts.
