Thomas Hillard Taylor, 74, of Republic, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
Thomas was born in Goody, KY, on December 30, 1950, to the late Thomas N. Taylor and Mary Agnes (Sartin) Schlicker. He married Jeane (Hoffman) in San Bernardino, CA on December 1, 1980 and she survives in Republic.
Other survivors include his children, Matthew (Dara Brooks) Taylor of Nicholasville, KY, Sarah (Joe) Kirian of Tiffin, Lori Taylor Bowman of Myrtle Beach, SC, Brandee Rowlins of San Antonio, TX, Karri Callen of New Castle, PA, Joleen Clelland of Garrettsville, OH, Jaime Miano of Sandy Lake, PA, a daughter-in-law, Brittany Taylor-Green of Republic, twenty one grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, three brothers, Scott Taylor of San Francisco, CA, Gary Taylor and Greg Taylor both of Bellevue and a sister, Sue Taylor of Attica.
Thomas worked as a Truck Driver and later went into Administration. He was also the owner/operator of Diamond T. Towing & Recovery. Thomas was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter Door Gunner. Thomas was a Hamm Radio Operator with the call sign of W8TYT. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and caring for his Hereford cattle.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Travis Taylor and Robert “Robbie” Taylor, a brother, Bennie Ray Taylor and two sisters, Carol Gimm and Debbie Taylor.
There will be a Celebration of Thomas’s Life held from 2-4 p.m., on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the Republic American Legion. The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
