Thomas Wells Obituary

Thomas Lee Wells, 56, of Tiffin and formerly of Fostoria, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at his residence.

Thomas was born on September 11, 1967 in Fremont to Thomas Lee Wells and Alice (Fruchey) Dohner.

Survivors include his father Thomas Lee Wells and Katharine Anne Wells “Mom” of Findlay, his mother, Alice R. Dohner, Step-father, Richard Dohner and his sister, Brittiney Marie Wells all of Kansas. Tom leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of his family, an elite group of friends and supporters that he considered his extended family. He loved you all very much. Last but not least the loves of his life his dog “Heaven” who he affectionately called “Baby Girl” and Cherub. Tom lovingly referred to himself as “Mama.”

Tom attended St. Wendelin Schools in Fostoria and studied at Brown Mackie College in Findlay. He worked as a medical assistant, professional hair stylist and even a female impersonator in his younger days in Columbus.

Tom was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Betty Wells of Findlay, his maternal grandparents, James and Marge Fruchey of Kansas, two cousins, Colby Oman and Marisa Paulus who held a special place in his heart and are embracing him as we speak in their loving arms.

Tom was a lover of dance, Madonna, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. His obsession was to reach for the stars and be a backup dancer for Madonna. The kid could dream. He was a supporter of the LGBTQ community. He loved all animals, especially his dog “Heaven” who he sadly leaves behind.

Tom was a firm supporter of President Biden and respected and openly acknowledged our military veterans for their sacrifices, especially his father, Thomas Lee Wells for his service in the Vietnam War. Tom loved the scent of a good burning candle, the colors of fall and a delicious taco pizza now and then and organized chaos. Add his dog “Heaven” with her blue ball in her mouth on his lap, a Pepsi and a Marlboro and the inside temperature set at 67 degrees and he was a happy man. He will be missed by those who took the time to know him and loved him the most. Rest in peace young man, dear son, and finish what you started here on this earth unobstructed in your new home in Heaven. Come back any time and visit.

To those reading this please know that Tom misses you as much as you are missing him right now. Find comfort in knowing that you will meet up with him again someday. He would not want you to grieve his death but celebrate his life by sharing all the memories you have, good and bad and remembering the gut splitting laughter you shared with him while he was here among us.

Tom had chosen to be cremated and there will be no services or visitation at this time. Burial will be in Knollcrest cemetery in Arcadia, OH at a later date with private graveside services. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County Humane Society or better yet, adopt a pet.
