Velma Jean Iannantuono, 85, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at The Willows of Bellevue.
Velma was born on August 2, 1938 in Whitley City, KY, to the late William and Lola (Hughs) Gibson. She married Johnny D. Iannantuono on April 26, 1954 in Lawrenceburg, IN and later reaffirmed their vows in 1957 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin with Rev. Downey officiating.
Velma is survived by her children, Dan (Dawn) Iannantuono of Tiffin, Tim (Marge) Iannantuono of Tiffin, Brian (Donna) Iannantuono of Delaware, OH, eight grandchildren, Rachel (Brad) Aurand, Lee Iannantuono, Angie (Shawn Shriver) Reser, Britney Iannantuono, Todd (Anna Mates)Iannantuono, Kevin (Amy) Iannantuono, Jason (Neily) Iannantuono, Eric (Joanna) Iannantuono, thirteen great-grandchildren, Gavin and Giada Iannantuono, Max Adkins, Landon, Aiden and Draven Aurand, Kaylee, Liliana and Scarlet Iannantuono, Zoli and Piper Iannantuono, Avri and Dominic Iannantuono and a sister, Wilma Sue Coffee of Anderson, IN.
Velma worked at Tiffin State Hospital and other various jobs. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin. Velma enjoyed cleaning house, walking and most of all her dogs.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Don and Bill Gibson, three sisters, Thelma Irene Foster, Mary Louise Ferguson, Norma Jean Haller and twin infant sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. There will be no visitation held at this time. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca County Humane Society.
