William G. McDaniel, 80, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at his residence.
William was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, May 13, 1946, to the late William Green and Georgia (Hughes) McDaniel. He married Cheryl (Edinger) in Bucyrus on May 16, 2003 and she survives in Fostoria.
Survivors include his children, William (Ginger) McDaniel of Bowling Green, Deborah McDaniel of Perrysburg, Dwayne McDaniel of San Francisco, CA, Travis Bloom of Findlay, Robin (James) Gardner of Tiffin, seven grandchildren, two sisters, LeWanna (Don) Brazeal of Reform, AL, and Gerry Morrison of Hattiesburg, MS.
William served as a lifelong Pastor at Sockwell Avenue Church in Russellville, AL, Praise Chapel in North Baltimore and most recently at New Beginnings PCA in Fostoria. He also worked at Fostoria Foundry and later retired from Gray Printing also in Fostoria. William was a United States Navy Veteran. In his free time he was an avid hunter and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Linda Gaye Knight.
Funeral services for William will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin with Bishop Ted Thomas officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Shady Grove cemetery in Reform, AL, at a later date.
