William Perkins Obituary

William L. Perkins, 97, of Bloomville, went home to his Lord on Friday, June 26, 2026, at The Willows in Tiffin surrounded by his sons.

William was born February 28, 1929 in Hodgenville, Kentucky, to the late William Perkins and Essie (Farmer) Bright. He married Sarah (Allgyre) in Newport, Kentucky on October 29, 1949.

Survivors include his wife of seventy-six years, Sarah Perkins of Bloomville, four sons, Daniel (Jeanne) Perkins of Bloomville, Mike (Pam) Perkins of Tiffin, Robert (Lee) Perkins of Bloomville, Richard (Danielle) Perkins of Powell, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, four sisters, Christine Shealy of Tiro, OH, Gloria Klingenberger of Bucyrus, Beverly Tracey of Bloomville, and Kate Miller of Broken Sword, OH.

William was a lifetime farmer and also worked at American Clay and National Machinery where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a very active member of United Baptist Church and a United States Marine Veteran serving during Korea. He was a 1947 graduate of Melmore High School. William will be remembered for his love for his wife, Sarah and his children and grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Jessica Perkins, four brothers, Roy, Charlie, Virgil and Harold Ray Perkins, two sisters, Stella Rust and Emma Dye.

Funeral services for William will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at United Baptist Church in Tiffin with Pastor Robert Adelsperger officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday, at Woodlawn cemetery in Bloomville with Military Rites being rendered by the United Veterans Council. The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
