Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two daughters, Nancy (Arthur) Hill and Cheryl Ward, a great-grandchild, four sisters, and a brother.
Wilma attended Hopewell-Loudon Schools until her sophomore year when she transferred to Tiffin Columbian High School where she graduated in 1946. She then went to work for The Ohio Power Company in Tiffin. It was at the Ohio Power Company that she met her future husband, Richard, who she married on July 25, 1947 at the Bascom United Methodist Church.
Wilma enjoyed gardening, reading, big band and Christian music, and watching TV. She loved to travel and visited Europe, Spain, England, “The Holy Lands” (which was her favorite), and all throughout the United States including Hawaii. She was proud to have met former President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalyn Carter through her work with the organization.
A private graveside service and celebration of Wilma’s life will be held at Pleasant Union Cemetery in Old Fort at a later date. The Engle- Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
